FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2003. I was on my way home to North Little Rock from downtown Little Rock when I saw a train heading out on the Van Buren Sub, so I decided to chase it for awhile toward Conway, using the Old Conway Highway (65). I got one picture in North Little Rock, then headed for Oak Grove, where I beat it by about 2 minutes, the the last picture was taken near Mayflower, where I beat it by 5 minutes (it had to pass a northbound coal train in Mayflower).

UP2285, 1236 p.m. April 11 westbound through North Little Rock. The sun was overhead, so there was a backlighting problem the whole time.

Passing.

Through Oak Grove, 1252 p.m.

Mayflower, 125 p.m. Notice the grafitti on the lead locomotive, #2285.

Heading out to the wild west!
